Deep Tara
Inner and Outer
On the outer level, the Tara Project invokes this principle:
Humanity will cross the threshold that is upon us by reclaiming what civilization has exiled to the margins of reality.
Exercising careful discernment, we incorporate what has been banished to the category of New Age, alternative, anomalous, primitive, and paranormal into the emerging systems and institutions of a parallel society. On this level, the Tara Project identifies catalytic nodes, builds narrative scaffolding, weaves agreements, and performs due-diligence to "distinguish the fraudulent from the speculative, the speculative from the promising, the promising from the proven, and the proven from the urgently necessary."
On the inner level, the Tara Project is a catalyst for timeline shift.
Multiple timelines converge onto the present moment, braided together in a tangle. Each of them is its own reality, with its own past and its own future. Each corresponds to a mythology, to a state of consciousness (individual and collective), to a field of agreement, and to a state of human relations.
Our assessment of "technologies of reunion" goes beyond asking whether they are valid, practical, or mature. Instead of asking, "Are they real?" we ask, "How may we establish the reality in which they can exist and operate?" Or, "Is reality ready for them to be real?" "Is society ready? Are human beings ready? Are you ready? Am I ready?"
Is consensus reality and prevailing human consciousness prepared for a vast expansion of our creative powers? Are we prepared to use them well? If not, what must be done to prepare? Is the ontological shock too great? If it is too great, then some of these technologies or phenomena may need to be incubated in a parallel society that holds them safely until the broader psychic conditions are ready for them.
Here is another way to say it: We aren't merely bringing in what has been exiled from reigning paradigms—real phenomena that have been denied. We are shifting reality itself so that what was once unreal becomes real.
I beg the reader to forgive this paradoxical phrasing. Because modern language is semantically invested in familiar concepts of objective reality, to describe alternatives necessarily invokes paradox. The following material will demystify some of that paradox and clarify key elements of the consciousness behind the Tara Project: Mythic thinking, timeline engineering, technologies of reunion, and ontological shielding.
Separation and Interbeing
A civilization's reigning myths are the source of sense, meaning, and identity for its people. The myths of modernity—the story of separation, control, objectivity, determinism—the story of the separate self in a mechanical universe of atoms and void—that told us what is real and what is possible and how to be human, is collapsing. Once, it enrolled us in a grand program of discovery and conquest, domestication and domination, engineering and control. It conceived of progress as the extension of human dominion to the global and the microscopic domain—to fulfill Descartes' vision that humanity, wielding science and technology, would someday become the "Lords and Possessors of nature." Today though, few can deny the failure of that story to bring about its promised Golden Age.
Thus it is that many realize: we need a new story. Then they may go about trying to create one, but that is not how stories work. They exist already beyond ourselves in a field of potential; they are discovered, not created. If anything, our stories create us more than we create them.
Moreover, story and consciousness co-resonate with each other. The state of being of a person or of a society will attract a story, a belief system, and a mythology that matches it.
This is why beliefs seldom change merely through an act of will. They change when the person changes; for example, when they undergo an experience that makes them conscious of things they were not conscious of before. That sets the stage for a new belief, a new story, and then a new experience of life. When beliefs change, it is because they are ready to change. The psychic conditions for the old beliefs are no more.
The same happens on the collective level. Civilization is becoming conscious of neglected truths, disruptive facts, orphaned wisdom, and lost knowledge that change the foundations of its sustaining agreement-fields. We are no longer who we were, a generation or two ago. Paradigm-shattering, identity-shattering, mythology-shattering information is now pouring in. Yet we still live within systems (social, economic, political) that embody the old story; hence, a growing sense of alienation, of not feeling at home, not belonging in the world narrated to us as normal.
Just as beliefs do not change through an act of will, so also mythologies and social systems cannot change through an act of design imposed by force upon a society. Besides, there is no executive committee standing outside society to whom we might submit our design for approval, hoping to persuade the powers-that-be to implement it. All of us—including the "powers-that-be"—stand within the system we wish to change. There is no external Archimedian lever point.
Yet, we understand that the changes we seek are possible. They come through participation, not force. They become possible when we align with a greater creative intelligence. Each act of alignment nourishes that intelligence and makes it more real. We enter into a reality in which that intelligence operates.
We do that through a series of choices. The deep intention of the Tara Project is to create conditions where humanity embraces them and says "Yes!" It is to make us conscious of choices we had been making automatically and unconsciously. It is to align us with a world that seeks to be born, that I call "the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible."
Our hearts know it is possible. Our minds, influenced by the Story of Separation and faced with the accelerating polycrisis on earth, may sometimes lose sight of that knowledge. From the assumption of force-based causality, a more beautiful world is indeed impossible. The old story contains within it an unyielding despair. Thus it is that mind and heart have long been in conflict: practicality and idealism, evidence and intuition, money and love.
The Tara Project does not seek to escape from the former into the latter, to abandon mind for heart, practicality for idealism, or money for love. Instead, we seek to bring all of these back into union.
The Story of Separation is fading. Its successor is some form of a story of interbeing, that goes beyond interdependency to recognize that our very existence is relational. We are not separate: something of you is in me, something of me is in you. Nature and human, matter and spirit, self and other interpenetrate, arising from and returning to a prior unity. And so we understand that the wellbeing of one depends on the wellbeing of all; that no society can be well when some of its members are miserable, that no one can be free when some are enslaved, that humanity cannot thrive while the rest of life withers.
Technologies of Reunion
Technologies of reunion refer to technology in the broadest sense of the word, encompassing far more than prevailing narratives of progress recognize. They comprise material, social, and spiritual technologies that draw from, and contribute to, a new story for civilization.
The technologies of separation are technologies of control. Their progress expands our ability to apply force to matter, with greater power and greater precision. Today these technologies extend down to the genetic and molecular level, even the atomic level. They deliver spectacular results, yet their deficiencies grow more acutely obvious with each passing decade.
Technologies of reunion are based on participation, resonance, and synergy rather than control. They align with natural intelligence rather than seeking to overcome natural resistance. For example, homeopathy does not seek to overwhelm the body with chemical force; instead it offers information that shifts the body into a new pattern. Similarly, Korean Natural Farming doesn't poison weeds and dictate chemistry; instead it adds new living microbes that support richer soil ecology.
Most of the technologies presented in the Tara Project brief are technologies of reunion. They make sense only from a story that recognizes intelligence and purpose in nature and the cosmos. They are the technical manifestation of the Story of Interbeing.
Timeline Dynamics
Within the New Age cliché that "beliefs create reality" lies a hidden truth. It is that belief and reality, inner and outer, self and other, cosmos and psyche, bear an intimate and mysterious connection. In working for systems change—actually let me say instead "a more beautiful world," since "systems change" implicitly narrows the field of our aspiration—we are ready, we are in fact compelled, to embrace this connection.
That doesn't mean to repudiate concepts of measurable impact, catalytic nodes, value propositions, authentication, verification, accountability, and due diligence. It is, rather, to embed them in a larger metaphysics, a broader theory of change.
What does authentication mean when we no longer view ourselves, the observer, as an independent variable? What is it for something to be real, when inner and outer are entwined?
Are UFOs real? Are zero-point energy devices real? Do Rife Machines, or biodynamic agriculture, or bee therapy "really" deliver meaningful benefits? Is our society really run by a Satanic cabal? Was Atlantis real? Is biological transmutation of elements and low-temperature nuclear fusion real? Past lives? Consciousness after death? Channeled entities? Telepathy?
Typically, both sides of each question agree on one thing—that the phenomenon either is, or is not, real. They agree that there is an observer-independent objective backdrop in which something either does or does not exist.
So, when archaeologists discover Gobleki Tepi, or tunnel complexes beneath the Sphinx, or other paradigm-breaking sites, we think, "They were there all along. Now we are discovering them. This will force a paradigm shift." Thinking in terms of timeline shift, however, we might say, "Those sites used to not exist. Now we are moving into a timeline in which they do exist. The past has changed to fulfill historical narratives aligned with who we are becoming. These narratives also imply future narratives of who we may yet become." What does it imply, for example, if Stone Age populations were able to quarry and transport 900-ton granite blocks? What happens when we fully enter the reality in which that is true? How does it expand the scope of our inquiries? Can modern despair over the metacrisis withstand the possibilities it promises?
Certainly, thoughtful people are aware that according to quantum mechanics, one cannot say of a particle: "It was either there, or not there, at point x, y, z at time t." That is simply not true in quantum mechanics, but we normally treat that as a special case, believing that quantum weirdness can be confined to the microcosm.
That assumption is disintegrating. We are no longer able to hold reality together in one piece. We can no longer make sense of things and hold onto an objective reality separate from the observer. As this core axiom of the Story of Separation dissolves, we visit anew ancient questions of cause and effect, symbol and reality, self and cosmos. The right response to the crumbling of objectivity is not a flight into solipsism or philosophical speculation. In fact, it unlocks new creative powers, new theories of change, new human capacities—and a new hope for civilizational transformation.
It is new, yes, but also very ancient. Humanity has a rich history of exploring the nature of reality. Our society does it too, using its peculiar tools—the tools of science and technology, the tools of quantity and measure. We have brought these tools to a very high level of development. Other civilizations used different tools, developing along very different axes of progress.
The Tara Project draws from these alternative understandings of the nature of reality. Practicality demands it.
Let us return to this statement:
> Multiple timelines converge onto the present moment, braided together in a tangle. Each of them is its own reality, with its own past and its own future. Each corresponds to a mythology, to a state of consciousness (individual and collective), to a field of agreement, and to a state of human relations.
Some of these timelines lead to human extinction scenarios, technological dystopias, and totalitarian control grids, to the endless reiteration of the cycles of violence and misery that some call the human condition. Others lead to an explosion of life, beauty, and creativity, harmony and love, cooperation and cocreation among humans, earth, and cosmos. These are the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible, from which we are no longer content to avert our gaze.
Which timeline are we on right now? People ask for predictions. What will the future be? Is there a chance of resolving the metacrisis? Such questions can be received as a request for a prediction, or as a longing for a prophecy. A prophecy is something that becomes true when it is spoken and received. A prophecy invites us into the state of being in which it can become true. It invites us into the roles necessary for it to become true. It invites us into the agreements that make it true. It invites us to be conscious of the choices that bring it into reality.
In other words, there is no objective answer to the question of which timeline we are on right now. No data set, no modeling, no trend analysis, no projections or forecasts can decide that question. Nothing outside ourselves can answer it. It is a choice. What timeline are we on? We choose. You choose.
That choice is not like picking an option from a menu. It is encoded into every choice we make. As in the Tara myth, each choice nudges us onto one or another timeline. Each choice we make is a statement of what a human being is. Who we are, and what the future shall be, are inextricable. They are the same question.
The Tara Project is dedicated to the more beautiful world timeline. The external level comprises the technologies and systems of a civilization where life flourishes. Beneath that is the layer of narrative and myth, sense and identity, purpose and meaning. And beneath that, at the core, is the consciousness of love, the remembrance of interbeing, the presence of God.
We can think of these as levels from exterior to interior, yet it is also true that each infuses the others. None are separate.
The Tara Project recognizes the work at all these levels. It recognizes the regenerative project, the bioregional initiative, the new-paradigm institute. It also recognizes the subterranean agents whose work is invisible to conventional theories of change. It recognizes the Dogon shaman, shepherding lost spirits of the dead. It recognizes the Kogi ceremonialist, holding together the sacred convenant-tissues of earth. It recognizes the hidden mystery schools that have no website or online program. It recognizes the quiet peaceworkers in prisons. It recognizes the importance of the redemption pathways of the worst perpetrators, and the healing pathways of the most damaged victims. It recognizes the connections between human and non-human beings of nature and the stars. It recognizes the principle of morphic resonance: that any change that happens in one place generates a field of change that affects all places. All of these and much more inform the Tara Project.
The Tara Project team helps each other to stand firmly in the consciousness that corresponds to the more beautiful world timeline. In coherency, it nourishes that consciousness in the world by directing money, attention, counsel, and creativity towards other places where it is taking root.
Ontological Shielding
The concept of ontological shielding originates from a study of the Experimenter Effect and the Decline Effect in psi research. Please read this article to understand the basic concept, which is somewhat counterintuitive to those of us (like myself) who were born into modern ways of thinking.
The basic idea is that accessibility of an experiment is to the prevailing structure we call "consensus reality," dilutes its effect size. The reality in which, say, a subject can read Zener cards blindfolded, predict coin flips, or alter the output of a quantum random event generator is incompatible with consensus reality. By employing strict protocols, video monitoring to prevent cheating, skeptical observers to ensure against fraud, etc.—in short, by making it publishable and persuasive—the researcher migrates the experiment into a reality incompatible with the abilities it tests. The effect size will likely be at a level that skeptics can easily dismiss.
Meanwhile, an informal demonstration of the same ability might show spectacular results in someone's living room. It is protected from the hostile view of the enforcers of consensus reality. It is inaccessible to those in consensus belief systems. They never know it happened. For them, it didn't happen. Reality as they know it remains intact. And if someone present shares an anecdote, skeptical people can easily dismiss it as a fluke, as cheating, as delusion.
This kind of ontological dilution presents an insuperable problem if the goal is to prove something; that is, if the goal is to change people's beliefs and shift their reality by force. Here is the evidence. Here is the logic. Now you must believe. This kind of violent assault rarely works, because beliefs (stories, narratives) are not mere intellectual constructs. They are the outer layer of a state of consciousness, a state of being. It is presumptuous to try to alter that by force. Maybe your target isn't done with being who they have been. Maybe their development within the shell of that story is not yet complete.
However, if the goal of the investigation isn't to prove something, but to understand it, to develop it, to come into relation with the reality it comes from, then we can turn the problem of ontological dilution to our advantage. We can purposely make the experiment inaccessible to consensus reality.
The above-linked article describes how to do that in psi research. Here let us extend the idea of ontological shielding to the development of a parallel society.
Some elements of a parallel society are adjacent to consensus reality and do not need shielding. Mass consciousness is ready for them. Legacy systems can accommodate them. Of course, established interests may resist regenerative farming, zero-waste manufacturing, or natural medicine, but they do not challenge foundational paradigms.
Other elements do need shielding. They require a protected realm in which to incubate, where they do not threaten—and are not threatened by—the established reality. This is why we speak of a parallel society that, as Buckminster Fuller advised, does not seek to overthrow the existing one.
One of the functions of the Tara Project is to determine which technologies are ready for consensus reality and which need to be incubated away from it. (Or more precisely, to determine where consensus reality is ready to move.) Technologies and phenomena that deliver too severe an ontological shock will be squelched—sometimes violently, as the history of alternative cancer cures, UAPs, and zero-point energy devices demonstrates.
Let us illustrate the point using the example of zero-point energy (ZPE). The same reasoning also applies to cancer cures, anti-gravity, transmutation of elements, and numerous other technologies.
The conventional mindset would have us survey the field, evaluate the claims, test the devices, determine whether the tech is legitimate or not, and, accordingly, extend or deny resources towards its development.
The multiple-timelines mindset might perform most of the same due diligence, but framed in a different way. Instead of asking whether the tech is real, it asks how far away it is from consensus reality. How distant (pardon the paradox) is the reality in which it exists from the current reality in which it does not exist?
It is quite far. Fundamentally, ZPE is a technology of abundance, whereas consensus reality, built on the Story of Separation, assumes scarcity. ZPE technology does not feel at home there. It gets squeezed to the margins. The Story of Separation recognizes the invader and mounts an immune response. Maybe men in black suits visit the inventor. Maybe his patents are denied, his scientific reputation is trashed, his research is rejected by journals. Maybe he mysteriously disappears along with his papers and equipment. Or maybe things keep going wrong. His investors back out. His crucial public demonstration fails to work. His flight is delayed. No one shows up. His lab burns down—was it arson or accident? It could be either. The immune system can work through human relations or through synchronicity. One way or another, the intruder is thwarted.
You can also understand it the other way around. Imagine ZPE is a conscious being and take its perspective. (This is one of the operating practices of the Tara Project—assume everything is a being: technologies, systems, stories, archetypes, myths, oceans, stars, the cosmos). The ZPE being, thinking out loud, says, "Hmm, I'm not sure if humans are ready for me yet. I'm not sure they are ready for a 100x or 1000x increase in usable energy. Because, what are they doing with the energy they have available already?" The technology doesn't feel at home in this matrix of scarcity. It will not, or cannot, penetrate it very deeply. And so it has remained on the margins of reality for more than a hundred years.
Furthermore, inventors who seek to patent their technology, to control it, to profit from it, to ride it to a heroic status, are standing in the very story of scarcity that is incompatible with the abundance the technology embodies.
ZPE violates (or seems to violate) the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which itself is a fundamental assertion of scarcity. Usable energy inexorably diminishes. Any local decrease in entropy comes at the cost of an even greater increase in entropy outside the system. More for me is less for you. ZPE entails a different view: that new energy constantly comes into being; that the universe is fecund, abundant. Are we ready to align with that?
For ZPE, five protocols guide ontological shielding:
1. Do not patent it.
2. Do not seek huge profit from it.
3. Do not seek to prove the mainstream is wrong.
4. Do not indulge in grandiose visions of it saving the world.
5. Implement it out of view and out of the way.
Following these, we can build a parallel reality in which ZPE can develop. Or not. Perhaps even so shielded, it will amount to nothing. I am using it to draw out a principle that applies to many paradigm-breaking technologies.
What was the first thing human beings did with the last huge upgrade in usable energy? That was atomic power, and its first application was a bomb that killed 80,000 people. We will know when we are prepared when we use current sources of energy in a good way. When we use oil and gas, solar and geothermal, wind and nuclear in generosity, to serve life and beauty on earth, we will have demonstrated our readiness for more energy. When we live in the reality of abundance, demonstrated by economic and social relations, abundant energy will be able to enter. The source will rise to meet the use.
It is not as advocates think: "When we have free energy, everyone will live in abundance." It is the other way around: when we live in abundance, we will discover free energy.
The example of ZPE illustrates the scope of the Tara Project. It goes beyond the technologies and systems and projects of a more beautiful world. We equally attend to the psychic substructure of such a world. Myth, narrative, consciousness, relationship... these are inseparable from technologies of reunion and systems built around them.
Mythic Consciousness
The Tara Project is grounded in mythic consciousness. A myth is not a fantasy. It is not contradistinguished from fact and reason. A myth is not true or false; it is a vehicle for truth.
In mythic consciousness, we become able to inhabit a mythology, to understand it, to receive its gifts, and not to become lost in it. We know it isn't the ultimate reality, yet it may provide an indispensable abode for the development of the soul.
So, when presented a narrative such as the Satanic Cabal, we don't start with the assumption that it either is or is not true. We don't try to pin it down. Instead we ask, "What truth rides the myth?" We ask, "What does it illuminate?" We ask, "What does it deny?" And perhaps most importantly we ask, "Who do I become when I inhabit this myth?"
We ask the same questions in reference to the aforementioned mythology of science: an observer-independent objective universe of forces and masses, determinism and randomness. We ask them also of the cosmology of Hinduism, Buddhism, or Christianity. We can apply them to the mythology of evolutionary biology. We can apply them to the Global Depopulation Agenda, to the Indigo Children, to the Starseeds and Guardian Races, to the Breakaway Civilization, to national mythologies such as America the Hero Nation, to political mythologies, psychological mythologies, economic mythologies.
The literalist might read The Courtship of Tara and say, "Well that can't be true," or "I don't agree with that." They are right. It isn't true. But most people who read it can feel the truth it carries.
Humanity needs myths. Each stage of human development is an immersion in a complex of myths, a mythology. We are emerging from one of those now, the mythology of separation, the story or control, the story of ascent. We emerge from it into a space between stories. The old certainties crumble, revealed as, not truth itself, but merely stories. To quote Ursula K. le Guin, "Truth goes in and out of stories, you know. What was once true is true no longer. The water has risen from another spring."
What was once true is true no longer. We stand between mythologies. Perhaps humanity will choose another round of Separation, a plunge into even greater depths of it, a world of total surveillance and control, depletion and ecocide, commodification of thought itself. That is one of the timelines before us. Other timelines and other mythologies are available though.
The Tara Project seeks not to stay forever beyond myth, beyond story, aloof from the dramas that weave the world. We seek instead to initiate new dramas that draw from a different mythology and lead to a more beautiful future. We seek to make that choice visible to humanity. We seek to bring into consciousness that which may inform that choice. We seek to tell the story that supports that choice. And we seek to link together the islands of coherence, the realities, and the agreements where we can experience it.
